The PeeGee Hydrangea is a very large shrub that can tolerate full sun but prefers afternoon shade. It produces massive $6-8$ inch long, cone-shaped panicles of creamy white flowers that often turn pink-tinged. This shrub is particularly valuable for its mid-summer to fall bloom time, when few other plants are flowering. Since it blooms on new wood, it can be pruned anytime without sacrificing the season's display.
