'Orchid Frost' (commonly called Spotted Deadnettle) is a tough, beautiful perennial ground cover that is perfect for brightening up dark, shady corners of a yard. It forms a low, dense carpet of distinctive heart-shaped leaves that are almost completely frosted in a bright, shimmering silver with just a narrow strip of deep green along the edges. From late spring through mid-summer, it puts on a beautiful show of orchid-pink, hooded flowers that sit right above the foliage. It is highly resistant to leaf mildew, makes an excellent companion planted alongside hostas and ferns, and looks fantastic cascading out of shady patio containers or hanging baskets.
